Curry Street

The downtown corridor improvements broke ground March 7, 2016 and within only eight months of construction Carson Street received major water and sewer utility replacement. In addition, the improvements enabled accessibility to all user types, and enhanced the downtown charm to encourage tourism. The downtown corridor improvements extended to Curry Street from Musser Street to Robinson Street, as well as beatification improvements for five east-west downtown streets between Carson Street and Curry Street. The grand re-opening of Curry Street was hosted on October 26, 2018 in conjunction with the Downtown Business Association Passport to Downtown.

Project improvements include replacement of aging water, sewer and storm drain infrastructure, pavement rehabilitation, wider concrete/paver sidewalks, energy efficient LED street lights, undergrounding of overhead power lines, landscaping, urban street furnishings, and other streetscape amenities. The improvements expand upon the Downtown Carson Street improvements, completed in 2016, further creating a redefined urban complete streets corridor.
